Wireless network (WiFi network) allows users to connect to a computer network and the internet without the need for cables or other physical media. UKF provides a wireless network in all university buildings. Internet access is provided through the eduroam network.
Structure of the UKF wireless (WiFi) network
- The network (SSID) UKFinfo is an information network with guides, necessary files, and supplementary information required for using the UKF wireless network.
- The network (SSID) eduroam is for UKF students, employees, and doctoral students to access the UKF wireless network and at the same time serves for connecting guests and students from other universities participating in the eduroam project.
Login credentials for the UKF WiFi network
- UKF students and employees:
- The username for employees is in the format: login name + @ukf.sk, example:

- the student’s login name is identical to the student ID number generated in AiS2. It is written on the student ID card below the photo. For students with older ID cards issued before 2015, the login name is identical to the student ID card number, example: ,
- The password is the same as the login credentials (central authentication) for all UKF information systems (AIS, KIS, EDU, etc.)
- Guests and students from other universities participating in the eduroam project:
- log in using the username (login) and password they use at their home institution
- Participants of conferences organized by UKF:
- log in using the username (login) and password they use at their home institution, or using the username (login) and password provided by the conference organizer.
Connecting to the UKF WiFi network
The easiest way to connect to the eduroam network is by using the automatic installer. This program automatically creates the settings profile for the eduroam WiFi network. For full functionality, simply enter the username in email format (e.g., ) and enter the correct password twice. After restarting your computer, you should be automatically connected to the available WiFi network.

- Connection quality decreases with increasing distance from the access point. If you have trouble connecting in a certain area, or if the connection drops during an existing session, we recommend moving to a location with better connection quality (closer to the access point).

Warning – communication monitoring

- In all UKF wireless networks, monitoring and logging of communication endpoints and services used is performed. The content of the communication is not recorded, only session information. Recorded information may be used in the investigation of offenses.
