The Faculty of Central European Studies was founded in 2003. The establishment of the faculty was the result of an effort to unify the training of Hungarian educators, which has a tradition of over fifty years at the university, but its structure arose from the need to meet the constantly and rapidly changing social environment.
The mission of the faculty is not only to train future educators but also professionals who master communication in several languages and are able to find employment in various fields of culture, public administration, and tourism. The faculty emphasizes the connection between theory and practice. Students complete continuous professional/pedagogical practice at both bachelor’s and master’s levels of study.
Both the pedagogical and scientific programs are based on the preferences of the Central European cultural area, which, with its multilingual and multicultural character, supports the aforementioned goals of the faculty.
Higher education at the faculty is carried out in close connection with the research and creative activities of the faculty’s employees and doctoral students.
The representative of the faculty is RNDr. Ladislav Szekeres, PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Central European Studies.
