Eduroam

eduroam

Eduroam is an international project focused on supporting mobility and roaming in national research and education networks (NRENs). The basic idea of eduroam is to enable students and academic staff to connect to the computer network at another academic institution without having to register anywhere or obtain access credentials. Connecting to the network only requires the user’s username and password, which they use at their home institution. Currently, eduroam is most widespread in the field of wireless networks.

Eduroam at UKF Campus

The eduroam wireless (wifi) network serves students, employees, and doctoral students of UKF for access to the UKF wireless network, and at the same time, it serves for connecting guests and students from other universities participating in the eduroam project.

Eduroam Outside UKF

If a UKF employee or student is at the campus of another university involved in the eduroam project, they can use internet access through the eduroam network. The connection setup is the same as under UKF conditions.

UKF students and employees have access to the eduroam service activated automatically. The standard login for central authentication, valid for all UKF information systems (AIS, KIS, EDU, etc.), serves as the login credentials for the eduroam service, in the format .

Connecting to the Eduroam Network

Information on connecting to the network can be found in the WiFi section.

All locations with the possibility of connecting to the eduroam network are marked with the eduroam logo in a visible place.
