Performance scholarships are awarded to students for outstanding fulfillment of study obligations in the relevant period of study.
Fulfillment of study obligations is assessed based on:
- successful completion of study subjects that the student enrolled in during the monitored period,
- the quality of academic results achieved in completed study subjects; the weighted average grade is used to determine the quality.
The assessment of the fulfillment of study obligations is carried out by faculties, and the data recorded in the UKF Academic Information System serves as the basis for determining the extent to which students fulfill their study obligations.
Performance scholarships are awarded by the rector or the dean of the faculty to which the student is enrolled and are paid as a one-time financial amount.
Field-specific scholarships may be awarded by the university to students in selected fields as motivational scholarships according to § 112 para. 1 letter a) of the Act on Universities. The list of study fields concerned is regulated by the Ministry in the methodology for allocating state budget subsidies for the relevant year, based on analyses of labor market development and societal needs.
Extraordinary scholarships are awarded to students for:
- outstanding achievements in scientific, artistic, or sports activities,
- successful representation of the faculty, university, or the Slovak Republic in scientific, artistic, sports, or knowledge competitions and other events,
- outstanding fulfillment of study obligations throughout their studies, recognized by a rector’s award or a dean’s award,
- an exceptionally high-quality final or other professional work by the student,
- exceptional engagement in student clubs and associations, and in the self-governing bodies of the university and faculty.
Extraordinary scholarships are awarded by the rector or the dean of the faculty to which the student is enrolled, usually in the academic year in which the circumstance for which the scholarship is awarded occurred.
The rector or dean who awarded the scholarship will issue a decision on the granting of the motivational scholarship, stating the amount of the motivational scholarship and the justification.
Proposals for extraordinary scholarships are submitted:
- via the electronic form https://doc.ukf.sk/stipko/ (a guide for filling it out can be found in the Documents for Motivational Scholarships),
- the deadline for submitting proposals is October 15 and April 15 of the respective academic year.
