Project Description
The aim of the grant call is to establish strategic partnerships between higher education institutions (HEIs) and to strengthen the strategic development of infrastructure, as well as to improve the quality of education and share best practices. The joint project of the Consortium UMB Banská Bystrica and UKF in Nitra, titled “Strategic Development of the UMB and UKF Consortium Infrastructure,” consists of several integration activities. These activities are focused on aligning internal quality systems based on jointly defined procedures and areas (activity 1), creating joint study programs within multiple fields of study (activity 2), creating conditions for attending courses from the offerings of both universities in the consortium (activity 3), consolidating and linking research and innovation capacities (activity 4), sharing premises, laboratories, specialized classrooms, and equipment of the schools (activity 5), supporting integration at the level of library, publication, and IT systems (activity 6), harmonizing and integrating in the area of student counseling and support (activity 7), and strengthening the sharing of accommodation, catering, leisure, and other premises, equipment, and services (activity 8). The main investment action is the reconstruction of the Student Dormitory in Nitra. The implementation of the aforementioned activities will bring higher quality studies to students of both universities through improved infrastructure as well as higher quality and more flexible teaching. Within the project, the universities will focus, among other things, on the comprehensive reconstruction of selected buildings and on the modernization and completion of integrated accommodation infrastructure.
