Sharing accommodation, catering, leisure and other spaces, equipment and services

The aim of the activity is to optimize the use of spaces and services of both universities. Through joint efforts, we are increasing the quality of student life and creating a more modern and functional environment for education, relaxation, and development. The achievement of the goals of this activity is overseen by three working groups, which focus on:

  • sharing accommodation, catering, and leisure spaces
  • comparing and harmonizing legislation in the field of student accommodation
  • a common quality system for social services for students

The working groups are working on unifying the processes related to accommodation and the provision of services for students participating in joint study programs.

Students of joint study programs will have equal access to gyms, swimming pools, common rooms in dormitories, as well as indoor and outdoor relaxation zones at both universities. Paid services will be provided under the same preferential conditions for students of both universities.

Consortium students will be governed by a binding document that defines the unified Accommodation Rules for Students of Joint Study Programs and for Students Utilizing Shared Capacities. This framework focuses on key areas of accommodation processes and will ensure a consistent approach to the rules set by the domestic or dormitory regulations of UKF and UMB, e.g., regarding receiving visitors, rules for using electrical appliances, rules for students’ hygiene and order duties, as well as a unified sanctioning system for violations of dormitory regulations.

The consortium will also create a common quality system for social services for students, which will define common quality standards and identify best practices to be implemented throughout the consortium. The system within the consortium will ensure the harmonization of pricing for similar social services based on their quality.

This activity represents a significant step towards better integration of our institutions, modernization of infrastructure, and the creation of conditions that meet the needs of current and future students.

The guarantor of the activity for UKF is Mgr. Peter Hrobár, Director of UKF Dormitories.

The guarantor of the activity for UMB is Mgr. Ján Grener, Director of the Administration of Purposeful Facilities of UMB.
