At UKF, events are organized annually with the aim of promoting the results of research, artistic, and other creative activities not only within the university, faculties, and individual workplaces, but especially among the professional and general public. We focus primarily on primary and secondary school students to arouse their interest in scientific work and, at the same time, in studying at our university.
Within the framework of research popularization, one of the most significant is the series of events within the Week of Science and Technology in Slovakia, which is organized annually by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the Centre for Scientific and Technical Information of the Slovak Republic and the National Centre for Science and Technology Popularization in Society. UKF regularly participates through its faculties in organizing lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and presentations not only at UKF but also at primary and secondary schools in the Nitra region.
UKF is also part of the largest science festival in Slovakia – European Researchers’ Night, which is organized annually by the Slovak Organization for Research and Development Activities in cooperation with the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the EurActiv.sk portal, and the Centre for Scientific and Technical Information of the Slovak Republic. The aim of the festival is to encourage young people in particular to be active and engage in experiential learning. UKF has participated in this event with the active involvement of its scientists in expert lectures.
An important event that annually presents the latest scientific and research findings in areas that affect the quality of life and our health is the film festival Agrofilm, whose main organizer is the National Agricultural and Food Centre Nitra – Research Institute of Animal Production in Lužianky. UKF, as a partner of the festival, organizes screening days through the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics, combined with expert lectures for employees and students.
