The scientific research and other creative activities of the university staff are primarily realized through the implementation of projects, which allow for the professional growth of university staff and also represent a significant source of financial resources needed for research activities, for the material and technical equipment of laboratories and classrooms, and enable important output in the form of publications.
Within the structure of grant support, research is financed and organized as follows:
- Institutional sources within the University Grant Agency (UGA) for employees under 35 years of age and full-time doctoral students
- Sources from national grant agencies – VEGA, KEGA, and APVV
- Non-ministerial sources – Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic, and institutions of the Nitra region
- International sources – 7th FP, Horizon 2020, Comenius, Erasmus, International Visegrad Fund, etc.
- Sources from EU structural fund operational programs
