Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra offers graduates of master’s studies the opportunity to take a rigorous exam, which includes the defense of a rigorous thesis. The rigorous exam can be taken in the field in which the graduate completed their master’s studies or in a related field of study.
Through the rigorous exam and the defense of the rigorous thesis, a master’s graduate demonstrates that, based on independent study and the independent preparation of a scientific work in the field of study, they have acquired deeper knowledge in its broader basis and are capable of independently acquiring and creatively developing new knowledge in science and practice, and at the same time creatively applying the acquired knowledge in practice.
The university conducts rigorous exams in accredited master’s study programs.
Graduates of rigorous exams at UKF obtain the title of Doctor of Natural Sciences (in short “RNDr.”) in natural science study programs, Doctor of Philosophy (in short “PhDr.”) in social sciences, arts, and health care study programs, and Doctor of Pedagogy (in short “PaedDr.”) in teaching and physical education study programs.
