University study at Constantine the Philosopher University is conducted in full-time and part-time forms within accredited study programs and is structured in accordance with the Bologna Declaration into three cycles – Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral.
The University provides higher education in a wide range of accredited study programs, guaranteed by faculties and their departments.
University study is organized and recorded with the support of the study credit system.
Full-time university study is free of charge for citizens of the Slovak Republic and the EU during the standard length of study. Study is also free for citizens of third countries if they study full-time in the state language, i.e., in Slovak. Part-time study is, in principle, charged. The University also determines tuition fees for full-time study, but only if a student is simultaneously pursuing more than one study program, as well as for exceeding the standard length of study.
The academic year lasts from September 1 to August 31 and is divided into two semesters, or three terms in some programs. The temporal characteristics of the duration of semesters and terms are regulated by the academic year schedule.
University study at the university is governed by the UKF Study Regulations, internal university regulations, and the internal regulations of the respective faculty.
The quality of higher education is ensured by an internal quality assurance system for education, which is based on European standards and guidelines for ensuring educational quality. The University respects the principles of student orientation, orientation towards the needs of practice and the labor market, support and development of staff quality, partnership and internationalization of research and education, accessibility of information, and social responsibility.
